HOW TO USE THIS BOOK TO HELP CHILDREN APPRECIATE ART By Rob Natiuk This is a painter most appealing to children because of her subject matter – emphasis on the life between mothers and children. She has been classed among the impressionists but her style is very accessible to us because it is also realistic.For instance, “The Boating Party” captures a mother in a boat being oared by the father. The mother holds her baby. The colors and details are subdued. I suggest letting children look at this painting quietly for a minute or two, and then give their impressions.A number of the selected paintings are of women, some beautiful, some ordinary, in everyday settings. For these I’d let children gaze on a painting and then give their impressions – remember, these are “impressionistic” paintings. Then, after they respond to separate works, have them react to all of them as one. Then they could do the same with the paintings of children – at the beach, girl with a straw hat, little girl with her nanny, girl with pink sash, breakfast in bed, “Sara holding a cat.”The best learning experience would be for the children “to be the painter, Mary Cassatt” and draw, water color or paint in her style for a bit. Encourage them to get their “impressions” into their works, not so much what they see but what they feel.These series of books are mere collections of these various artists. In many cases children will benefit from talking about them with knowledgeable teachers and readers. You can, of course, get vast information on all of these artists on the internet or other books. I recommend that.

I have learned a lot about Mary Cassatt and her painting style by looking at the pictures in this ebook. It isn't easy to find books of good art for children, or even just to introduce you to a valued past artist. I found it informative and interesting enough to share with my children. It is not easy to find good material with pictures of art for children. This fits the bill and is interesting enough to discuss the art aspects with young art appreciators and perhaps even aspiring painters. Well done! Thanks. :)

Because I am a targeted individual, everything has been taken away from me. I have literally been robbed of life through psychological, financial, and emotional hardship..." November 17, 2014 Excerpt from Myron May: "My Experiences of Being Targeted." On November 20, 2014, at 12:26 a.m., Myron De Shawn May, entered Florida State University, Strozier Library, and opened fire injuring three, two of whom were students, and the third an alum employee. The media reported that by 12:30 a.m., a mere 4 minutes later, May lay face down, dead, after a hail of bullets just outside the library door by law enforcement after refusing to relinquish his weapon. Initial media reports vary as to whether he shot first. Prior to the shooting, Myron May via certified mail sent out ten packages to various associates and social network contacts across the United States hoping to detail his story after his death. He strategically planned for the packages to arrive the day after the shooting. Although the Postal Inspector, and FBI, intercepted and confiscated the packages across the United States, weeks later six letters would surface which May created and were likely inside the packages. The letters provide insight into the anguish and a well-organized mind that had, it appears, "devised a scheme" for permanent emotional relief. These letters laid the foundation for this book. The pride and joy of his hometown became a hunted By Marie This final book in the author's 5-book series about the advanced-technology, remote, EM torture/involuntary experimentation and mind control exploitation of innocent American civilians by black ops elements in their own government raises some somber questions.How could this attractive, respected, well-liked, highly-intelligent, accomplished, mild, and kindly young man be induced to act against all his previous history and beliefs shocking friends/family and acquaintances by going on an alleged shooting rampage at his beloved college? There are details of the reported story that don't jive with some of the known facts. Did he actually do the shooting?He reported experiencing the pains/voices from the remote electromagnetic direct energy weapons, the harassments, psychological tortures, destruction of his relationships, his ability to function in his job and being hunted and harassed and betrayed where ever he would go. The pride and joy of his hometown became a hunted, homeless, friendless wanderer until he seemed to crack under the strain and make decisions that were not consistent with who he had been. Trauma-based programming to turn a decent normal person into a "Manchurian Candidate".He is one of countless numbers whose lives have been turned upside down and destroyed by being targeted by "the Program". For these demonic "controllers", breaking down a person and inducing them to act against their own values and welfare is a "success". For any normal decent person it is a great tragedy and vast injustice. So how does one guard against this type of personal invasion? This is intense spiritual, mental and physical combat for each person targeted and attacked. "DON'T BEND, DON'T BREAK!" is the final advice of the author who continues her own battle to survive and triumph over evil through goodness.

One minute after i made the comment, all comments were diabled. I think i found the chink in their armour and they dont want people to know the cure.) They are already trying to portray targets as schizophrenic and I believe this book helps it along. I don't know why he would go become a shooter to help the cause of exposing this. He just made everyone more afraid to talk about being targeted because everyone will look at them like they are about to go postal. Why would he target a college? Why not the military that is doing this?He was on target when he said this is being done with nanotechnology(biometrics also plays a part). Look up a YouTube video by a scientist that has some of this figured out.."From chemtrails to pseudolife...the dark agenda of synthetic biology" They have been spraying this synthetic nanotechnology on our heads for the last 25 years and it is integrating into our systems. Going into our brains and connecting like a computer. This is how they track you everywhere you go. They have us all in a supercomputer and can guess your next move with 99% accuracy. Easy to do when they are monitoring your every thought. Do this experiment: rinse with 2 tsp hydrogen peroxide and 2tsp red wine vigorously for 5 minutes. Spit it out and see what they have integrated into your body.I have spent the last 3 years shielding myself from these weapons. We need to figure how to get this out of our bodies. Maybe a parasite cleanse or an Esther fast...3 days no water or food. These things are very electric which the video will explain...maybe that would help. These nanobots let out an electrical signal. People with morgellons disease are releasing these fibers from their skin. We all have morgellons but most don't release the fibers. People have cured their morgellons with protocols of grounding mats, internal hydrogen peroxide protocol, colloidal silver which you can make yourself, nebulizer treatments with colloidal silver so these nanobots die when they hit your lungs, being alkaline, and doing parasite cleanses. I'm beginning the process. I feel a world of difference with the grounding mat. Instead of the signal going to Gwen towers and satellite, it goes to ground. Do this test to see the nanofibers: rinse with two tsp. Hydrogen peroxide and two tsp. Red wine vigorously for 5 minutes, then spit it out and see the nanofibers. Everyone has them. These nanofibers also flee from alfalfa. That is probably why the fake alfalfa sprout scare and Walmart the Illuminati store has permanently stopped selling them.Also, do a search, fibers found in robitussin. This guy found fibers in his robitussin and then showed a news channel the other unopened bottle with unknown fibers. They are putting these in everything, food, air, water. Don't eat their GMO and make everything from scratch. Magnetic pulses seem to kill these things so possibly a magnetic stirer for your water would magnetize it and kill them.

Me and a girl I see regularly read this together and had a pretty good time ;). I have to set a couple of things straight though for women. My friends and I always talk, and most of us agree that we don't require that women have big breasts. I prefer a handful over a large breast. And it is so true that it turns men on for a woman to do a little work and be the instructor. A woman that doesn't feel comfortable spicing it up in bed, will likely find her man looking elsewhere. He may not cheat, but he won't be dreaming of you while he is at work that's for sure. I don't agree with the part about adding another woman to the mix unless you aren't married. I have always thought this way. If you bring a person into your bed with your wife, it breaks the bond of marriage. That's not me talking religious either. I think that would be fine if you were just dating and having fun, but not for marriage. Either way, great book Ariana! I think any couple no matter how long they are married could use the tips you included in your book.

Without going into intimate detail over positions and sex toys, she discusses the things that are needed for a healthy relationship but are mostly lacking. I found this guide very tasteful and helpful.

After years of marriage we still have great sex and it's because of the some of the topics in this book. Having that open line of communication is key. Several good tips in here that can help any couples looking to take their sex life to the next level.

Heads Roll By Bill Crider Victor Gischler puts Sally and her friends into some terrible situations as they make their way through a post-apocalyptic wasteland as monsters attack, blood flows, and heads roll. Okay, mostly they fly through the air, but why quibble? There are mutant cannibals, too, and Bamazons. I liked the Bamazons best. You might find yourself wondering who's going to die next, not to mention how. Gischler is nothing if not creative when it comes to devising deaths. Dandy artwork by Tazio Bettin adds a lot to the wild doings. Don't pass this book along to your refined granny.

This work is different from most World War Ii memoirs because of the juxtaposition of the written accounts of two combatants, an American naval officer and a Japanese naval officer posted to fight for control of the Solomon Islands. In particular, the main body of the book focuses on what it was like, both offensively and defensively, to fight for the island of Bougainville. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Fascinating WWII Pacific war accounts By FredH A friend gave me a copy of EXTRAORDINARY LEADERS and I quite literally devoured it. It’s about two men fighting in the South Pacific during World War Two. One’s an American, Vernon Jonnatta, the author’s uncle who returned to the US Navy at 47 right after Pearl Harbor and commanded landing crafts. His letters to his wife form the basis of his accounts. The other protagonist is a quite exceptional young Japanese supply officer named Kawanishi who left an account of his service. The two men’s accounts pair beautifully. What an inspired notion of author Jonnatta to link the two men and how lucky he was to find the Japanese account.I was a kid at the time of WWII and still remember hearing about those South Pacific Islands – Bougainville, Iwo Jima, etc - and the costs of the Americans taking them. Including Kawanishi, a truly quality guy, puts a universal perspective to the book. It becomes universal and humanitarian rather than merely patriotic; it's just about two guys working hard to fulfill their missions in wartime.>Highly recommended.

A different true military story By Corsair A true story, from a human standpoint of two leaders, one Japanese, one American in WW2 and their personal stories. Both sides well documented and they were quite different in temperment and style of leadership. Though a military history, the personal aspects were to me the most interesting.

By Leaf On my Goodreads and purchased at Rightstuf:Requiem of the Rose King was one of my most anticipated manga of 2015, and it lived up to my expectations. Based on an early draft of Shakespear's Richard 3, this manga follows the tragic tale of a character named Richard, born into the world an intersex person. Richard is born with both the body of a male and a female, and for this reason, his mother cannot bear to look at him. It would not be an exaggeration to even say she fears and hates Richard, for she purposely abandoned him in the woods where witches are rumored to reside and accuses him of basically being demon spawn. THIS IS NOT YOUR TYPICAL SHOUJO. THIS IS DARK AND GRUESOME AND VERY DIFFERENT.The story is set in medieval England against the War of the Roses, and our characters are stuck in the middle of it. Here, we follow the House of York and Richard's father, who is trying to take back his crown from Henry Lancaster, a devout Christian. The art is beyond gorgeous, and you can actually tell that the characters are European! The women are not damsels either, especially Queen Margaret, wife of Henry Lancaster. She takes charge of the war for Henry, who is tormented by the sins his soldiers commit.Joan of Arc is twisted into a mischievous spirit, and for those who are religious like me, it would be best if you don't take offense at a lot of the liberties this manga took regarding faith. Saying that, religion is a prominent part of the manga, but it isn't shoved down your throat either so both atheists and religious folk can enjoy the story. Regardless, this was set in a time where religion was a big part of life.For a shoujo manga, this certainly isn't your typical story. We follow an intersex character who is burdened with shame, depression and self-loathing, and a heavy focus is spent on the characters and how they are faring against their situations. The art is absolutely beautiful and I found myself staring at many of the pages for a long time, completely amazed. There were times where it even seemed very Tim Burtony in its style. It's not Vagabond, but it truly stands above most manga in art. If you like witty dialog and politics, strong women and controversial topics, breathtaking art and something new, I highly suggest you give this a try.If you liked: Rose of Versailles, Pandora Hearts, dark shoujo, medieval England, gorgeous art, Tim Burton, you will probably really like this!

Interesting take on Richard III By Talvi Requiem For The Rose King does for the English Wars of the Roses what Rose of Versailles did for the French Revolution. Genders are murky, everyone is beautiful, and historical accuracy is easily jettisoned in favor of over-the-top drama. It's pure entertainment; a very Japanese 'translation' of an early Shakespeare Richard the III draft with an emphasis on 'loose'. But this is also a timely topic with the recent find of Richard IIIs burial site under a parking lot in England last year.Story: Queen Margaret of Anjou and Richard Duke of York's feud of 1455 has created the Wars of the Roses: bloodshed across the English country by divided noblemen fighting for the throne. On one side, Queen Margaret and her insane husband, King Henry the VI, whose emblem is the Lancastrian white rose. On the other side, Richard, Duke of York, whose emblem is a red rose. Richard and his wife Cecily have three children: the youngest, named after his father but born under ill omens and deformed, is the focus of our story. For this deformed child will grow up to become the infamous Richard the III, last of the medieval Kings of England. But before he grows up to be King, he will deal with his mother's disgust, his father's love, and his own warped ambition. For his deformity is being born an intersex and it has cursed him to impotence.It was an interesting plot choice to take the hunchback King (Richard III was born with a curved spine) and instead turn that deformity into being born intersex. Since this is loosely based on Shakespeare, automatically we know Richard will be evil in this adaptation. Author Kanno has chosen to make him more misunderstood than demonic; a child resenting his quirk of birth and wanting more for his father and family. At the same time, he fights his mother, the devout Christian Cecily, who considers her child demonspawn and tries to desperately keep Richard from his father.There are appearances from many historical figures; e.g., gender neutral Joan of Arc taunts young Richard as a specter of doom and Richard's rival, King Henry, pious pacifist son of Margaret of Anjou. Those curious about actual events may want to keep a wikipedia entry handy. But really, it's not needed to follow the story, which really is more about a good story than historical value. Villains, especially the women, are reminiscent of the "evil laugh behind a hand" type of 1970s shoujo evil queens. Margaret of Anjou is a lawn mower, Cecily Neville (Richard IIIs mother) is a fanatical insane, and Anne Neville (Richard's future wife) has an inexplicable attraction to Richard. As such, the interesting characters are the males and their relationships with Richard as he moves around in medieval England.The art is quite lovely and there is enough drama to keep readers entertained (and perhaps a bit curious about the actual events surrounding the Wars of the Roses and final fate of King Richard the III).Reviewed from an ARC provided by the publisher.

By X Based on early drafts of Shakespeare's Richard III & Henry VI, Aya Kanno brings forth these two stories and blends them into a dark mysterious world with her own touches. Before I go any further, you DO NOT have to be familiar with Shakespeare's works to enjoy the story. It unfolds in its own way.The setting takes place in the middle of a war between York and Lancaster where each fights is aiming to keep the throne, or rightfully assume it. The manga has dramatic political upheavals, familial disagreements, and jaw dropping plot twists that have the potential to change the fate of the story in any way. With each passing chapter (this book has 4), more climax builds with all the characters Richard, son of York, encounters, and with the events that unfold.Richard, born and soon after shunned by his mother develops a sort of lonely air to him. He seems tormented but regains his "light" and "his reason to live" as he puts it when he is with his father. When his father also named Richard, decides to take the throne from Lancaster, he leaves and we can see the kind of relationship in contrast he has with his mother. Calling him a demon spawn, and ostracizing Richard, his mother is not one who a reader can easily like. But Richard's determination to bring honor to himself is evident when he wishes to fight alongside his father and see him on the throne as rightful king.However, as one reads, a problem arises when the King of Lancaster is introduced making the reader wonder whether it will be so easy as Richard thinks.As far as the art goes, it is gorgeous. It has clean lines, nice backgrounds, and nice facial expressions that clearly show the character's emotions.The dialogue is a little airy but only with certain characters like Kings, Queens, and Dukes. It isn't too grandiose that you can't read it, but enough to tell they are people of importance or status.There is a few panels of violence when the war begins, and there is a particular scene of brief nudity when Richard's secret is let known to the readers.

I feel like there needed to be more of a backstory on the main character, Jude. Illustrations were very good and the story line was well developed. I would recommend to anyone who likes supernatural type fiction.

4 of 5 people found the following review helpful. Don't bother By Sam Quixote Mark Millar and John Romita Jr’s Kick Ass was a surprise hit, both as a comic and a movie. It was wild, different and very fun and introduced us to the brilliant Hit Girl, a tiny Tazmanian Devil of violence. Then we got the sequel and the Hit Girl spin-off - neither were as great as the first book but they were still pretty decent. And now we have the threequel, which is also the final Kick Ass instalment - and it was one too many.Mindy, aka Hit Girl, is in jail while Dave, aka Kick Ass, is on the outside, kinda committed to breaking her out with his “superhero” team, Justice Forever, but also kinda not. Because there’s this hot girl he wants to sleep with. And he doesn’t really feel like being Kick Ass anymore. Meanwhile, cliched Italian mobsters are out to be cliched Italian mobsters and Mark Millar shows us just how few ideas he has left for this series. Then it’s over.Kick Ass 3 didn’t need to be 8 issues long. There’s so little to this final instalment that it could’ve easily been a 3-issue miniseries, or Millar could’ve left it as it was at the end of Kick Ass 2: Mindy in jail, Dave lucky to be alive. That would’ve been preferable to this bloated pile o’ nothing.The whole book is made up of half-formed plotlines that are abandoned before their end. Dave plans to break out Hit Girl with Justice Forever before realising none of them have the skills necessary to do anything quite so risky, so they leave Hit Girl behind. Dave then treads water for the whole book living out his superhero fantasies. This is Dave’s motivation in the book: to re-enact Batman’s big entrance scene in Year One. That’s his goal for the entire book! It’s so pathetic.Justice Forever is kinda falling apart but who cares because no-one in the book does, least of all Millar or the reader, while Mindy twiddles her thumbs in jail until her inevitable escape and ensuing bloodbath of revenge. The Italian mobsters do mobster-ish things while they wait to be killed by Hit Girl. Chris Genovese was bad but now he’s kinda good - whatever. None of this is even remotely interesting.And that’s the worst part of this book - it’s super boring. Kick Ass was never boring before but it is now. Dave’s struggling with the superhero side of his life alongside his real one, mob guys are being evil, “superheroes” are being killed - it’s all stuff we’ve seen before. There’s an extended look at how Mindy became Hit Girl but it’s totally unnecessary as we know how she became Hit Girl: Big Daddy made her do terrible things. Again, we’ve seen it before, so what’s the point of showing it again? Filler.There were a few moments here and there that were good. The way the ending mirrored the beginning of the series was a nice touch, and it was funny seeing Mindy’s psychologist, Dr White, looking exactly like Walter White from Breaking Bad. John Romita Jr’s art is good too and shows that he put much more effort than Millar put into his script.But overall, Kick Ass 3 is an overlong, dull slog through an uninspired storyline without any ideas to a rote finish.It’s pretty clear that Millar’s more or less given up on working hard at his comics’ scripts and is now totally focused on movies. His comics are now elaborate pitches aimed at studios rather than stories for the comics crowd. Kick Ass 3 is just another of his recent books that’ve been sub-par - The Secret Service, Jupiter’s Legacy and MPH are all very poorly written despite having phenomenal artists like Dave Gibbons, Frank Quitely and Duncan Fegredo attached.The final chapter of the book ends like a Marvel movie with a credits sequence followed by an after-credits scene. The after-credits scene in a Marvel movie is supposed to be a teaser for the audience to make them want more but the effect after reading this book is the opposite - guys, seriously, no more, just STOP!

By Jamil Bhatti I was so blown away with the first Kick Ass book (I still think it's one of the best comics I've read) that I was a little underwhelmed by its' two sequels (I'm talking about Hit-Girl and Kick Ass 2); however, I think enough time has passed for me to once again love this series wholeheartedly.I'm guessing that when I reread these someday I will be able to love each of them the same, it's just that the first book made such an impression on me that it makes the other books seem lesser, but I have a feeling that this isn't really the case.Kick Ass 3 is the end of the circle and the definitive end for the series (there is, in fact a two page spread that says: THE END). While I'm sorry to see it go, it did go out in fine style. It has the same stellar artwork and sharp writing that we have come to expect, not to mention the sudden plot twists and horrific dismembering. And while it did wrap everything up quite nicely, couldn't we all do with some more Hit-Girl?

"A BOOK THAT WILL LIFT YOUR SPIRIT AND LIGHT A FIRE" By Richard Deutschmann After reading Saving The Places We Love, I felt like I had been on a walk in the woods with author Ned Tillman. From the opening chapter where Tillman dealt with the loss of a place he loved as a child, to captivating stories about some of the most special places on this planet, this book was both a joy to read and a call to action. It lays out "the environmental issue" into layman's terms, and invites the reader to look no further than their own backyard to take simple, practical actions to turn the tide towards restoration and balance. Sidebar short stories are sprinkled throughout the book, which were added gems that made this a truly enjoyable read.

By Elaine M Pardoe This book does not make us despair for our environment's survival, as so often we may do when confronted with all its problems. Rather, the author tells us what has already been accomplished to save each of the kinds of places we love, and then points out how each one of us can contribute to progress in our own way. Read this engaging book of hope, and ask the teachers you know to have their students read it and think about their own favorite places and what they can do to save them.

The author provides interesting facts and personal stories about many areas on our planet effected by climate change. This book also gives the reader helpful suggestions on how to control our day to day impact on the environment. "Saving the Places We Love" is well written, informative and interesting. I think it should be in every school and every home!

Projected imports are lowered 20 million bushels to 160 million on pace to date. Projected exports are lowered 25 million bushels to 900 million on increased competition from EU and the recent strengthening of the dollar, which makes U.S. exports less competitive. Ending stocks are increased to 692 million bushels. The season-average farm price is lowered 5 cents on the low end and 15 cents on the high end to $5.85 to $6.15 per bushel. The reduction reflects prices received to date as well as a loss of competitiveness for U.S. wheat. Global wheat supplies for 2014/15 are raised 3.3 million tons with both increased production and beginning stocks. World wheat production remains record high and is raised 1.7 million tons led by 0.5-million-ton increases for both Argentina and Kazakhstan. The Argentina change reflects harvest reports to date; Kazakhstan’s increase is from updated government statistics. Turkey is raised 0.3 million tons based on a multi-year review of production. Ukraine is raised 0.3 million tons on updated government statistics. Beginning stocks are raised 1.7 million tons mostly on back-year revisions to the Turkey production. Global wheat trade for 2014/15 is raised with exports up 0.9 million tons on larger supplies and stronger demand. Exports are raised 1.0 million tons for EU and 0.5 million tons each for Argentina and Brazil. The EU increase stems from a fast sales pace and competitive prices. Argentina is raised on the larger crop, and Brazil is up on pace of shipments to date. A 0.5-million-ton reduction for Australia is partly offsetting. Egypt imports are raised 0.5 million tons; Philippines, Saudi Arabia, and Sri Lanka are each raised 0.2 million tons. Partly offsetting are 0.3-million-ton reductions each for Bangladesh, Brazil, and Turkey. All the import changes reflect the pace of trade to date. Global wheat consumption for 2014/15 is up 1.5 million tons on both higher food and feed use. The largest increases for food use are for Egypt and Russia, up 0.5 million tons each. Turkey feed use is up 0.4 million tons. Partly offsetting are 0.5-million-ton and 0.3-million-ton reductions, respectively for Canada and Brazil feed use. Ending stocks are up 1.9 million tons, mostly with a 1.3-million-ton increase for Turkey on back-year revisions to production.

About the Author Anthony M. Kennedy is an associate justice of the United States Supreme Court. Born in 1936 in Sacramento, CA, Kennedy joined the U.S. Court of Appeals in 1975 as the youngest federal appeals court judge in the country. He was nominated to the U.S. Supreme Court by Ronald Reagan in 1987.
