If you like David Letterman, buy this book... if you love David Letterman buy two and give one to a friend..( I did )This is a fun book paying tribute to David Letterman. It is heart felt and uplifting. Although a book of rhymes it is more for the 'child in the adult' than for children. It is illustrated with funny pictures to help tell the story of how David Letterman made all of us feel better about our days as he made us laugh and laugh. The writer, Dale Lutes clearly enjoyed watching the late night host and when you read the book you will see how his humor mattered to him through some tough times... Dale Lutes, where ever you are... Using the same kind of cute humor as Letterman, Dale has created a funny parody about the greatest late-night talk show host of all time. You will enjoy Dale's creative style which will have you in stitches. The illustrations by Mike J. Goldstein will make you laugh as well.

I know the author personally and also know that she has a flair for such writing. I wish her well in her endeavour to market her book successfully. The book is geared for parents of three to five year olds who enjoy reading to their children.

Well written, interesting paranormal storyline, suspenseful mystery, strong characters, good family theme, and a vicious villain. HOWEVER, the hero is a male chauvinistic bully; he grabs the heroine, carries her to the bedroom while she “struggles and swears,” tells her he’s “tired of waiting,” restrains her, and won’t take NO for an answer. By Di Amazon Customer I love when Nora Roberts creates a trilogy or keeps a story going because I feel as if I am saying goodbye to good friends everytime I reach the last page. I really do love the twists and turns. Though she definitely has a formula and it is a bit contrived as you start following this author but I just can't help myself. Most of her romances start out with a conflict between the couple, while quickly feeling strong chemistry soon after they meet. She talks a lot about his scent or her scent etc.. There is usually a bad guy and if there is a single mom, she usually has boys, (though Suzanna has a boy and a girl,) and the man usually falls in love with the kids and in turn the mom usually falls in love with the way the guy treats her kid(s). And usually they end up having a kid or two of their own, and the original kids are over the moon happy about it. But sorry, I can't resist. As long as she writes em, I'll be reading them! I loved that these were hot off the press "this" year!

I really enjoy Nora Roberts books By imagine I really enjoy Nora Roberts books, she has the ability to draw one in and hold that interest throughout the story. Her books "to me" are worth the read. I have many from her collection, Hidden Riches, True Betrayals, Homeport, The Reef, Villa, Calhoun collection and more. Haven't had a bad read yet.

He probably knows a lot about math. But this book is not a good review for College Algebra. The prospective buyer can't see this from the "Look Inside" preview, but there is very little information in the 48 pages of this book. The print is very tiny, but one page will show a single example of a problem type, all crowded into the center of the page. Not a comprehensive review and certainly not worth 10 bucks. There are much better resources for the money.

By Warren Sabado While I have been asked: What do you think of the new BH6 Manga? Well my friends let me tell you it’s a good read. Let me warn you: Spoilers and grab a drink because for good science we are going in. All the characters we know and love are there; I will admit Fred is over the top bit we love him for it and Go-Go is more aggressive per-se. Hiro is the same genius we all know, he’s still the cocky prodigy with witty dialogue. But here is where the manga and the movie depart as they expand more on Hiro and Tadashi’s history as brothers. Tadashi’s relationship is expanded as more of a father figure/older brother as he sees the untapped potential Hiro has. We feel that Tadashi has to be an example to Hiro to look up too, as after the death of their mother and father; which is expanded upon on in the Manga of what took place. Tadashi explains that it was a car accident. He was walking home from school with Hiro when he heard the news from Cass, and on that day he had to grow up and mature to take care of his brother. This weight and responsibility is only magnified as Hiro relies on his brother to always be there. The manga conveys that Cass was pushed into a role of mother-figure immediately while she grieves on her sister’s death, as she was the only next of kin. It’s Up to Tadashi to cheer her up from her stress by making her an alarm clock that pops out a small little flower. But this is where I am going to veer off road to explain how this manga steers off and takes the material into a new direction as Haruki Ueno takes liberties with the story. We start off differently than the movie a few years later. Hiro is in a collage class with Tadashi at SFIT (being one of the youngest to ever attend), where he tinkers away at his latest invention: Mini-Thruster Rockets. The professor tries to challenge the class with a science equation, no one can answer as the students deem it almost impossible to answer. When the Professor sees Hiro he immediately challenges him, only for the professor to get outright humiliated and schooled on how his equation is wrong. Hiro is brash and is anti-social as he lacks in the communication department, lacking the self-confidence to talk to others. Tadashi then explains to Hiro that he needs a focus and tells him to participate in the science exhibition (like the movie, however he is not an underground bot-fighter). We then see Tadashi building Baymax. Tadashi explains that he built Baymax to be a brother figure to Hiro and watch over him, as he then ponders on how he is going to tell Hiro that he is going to transfer from SFIT to a medical college. When the exhibition is done, Hiro wins and he gets offered by Callaghan to join him alongside other prestigious students in robotics and military grade weaponry for the government. Seeing Hiro’s Micro-bots as a game changer in wars. Hiro declines, saying that it would take him away from his family, and most importantly his brother. Here Tadashi scolds him and tells him about him transferring, that he wanted Hiro to accept and do more with his life. Hiro takes this harshly and ignores his brother all day; going into an emotional distraught. Here we see Tadashi explaining that he wanted Hiro to be more independent and, saying that he was finding the right time to tell him and wants to reconsider the offer as Tadashi is called by Callaghan late in the night. This is where the fate of Tadashi is set. Hiro follows him and we see Tadashi conversing with Callahan on the dangers of his invention (the gateway portal device in the movie). However it is seen as unstable and if activated it could create an artificial black hole and Tadashi argues with him. As Callaghan activates it without considering the dangers. Tadashi tries to prevent Callaghan, only to be pulled in. Hiro tires to save his brother as he holds onto is hand when the device is fully active. Tadashi then tells Hiro that he is proud of him; and we get this moment where Hiro tells Tadashi that he wanted to be like him and this we get this flashback of Tadashi promising to their mother that he will take care of Hiro. In a final farewell he lets go in order to save his little brother. Hiro is there left traumatized and Callahan is nowhere to be seen. Here we get one whole page seeing Hiro crying, he is alone now. I will admit this whole scene alone has a lot of emotional gravitas than the movie as we go into a lot more depth of how Hiro is going through this, he does not eat for days, nor go outside; he wants to be alone. Hiro then meets Baymax the adventure begins. Overall the manga becomes a story of revenge, and when we get to the formation of Big Hero 6 Hiro goes to Tadashi’s friends to avenge him. They agree on the condition of Callahan is brought to justice. Then we get this wonderful scene of Fred just enjoying the idea and asks to name the team, he then goes into a monologue where they can give the people an ideal to strive towards. The manga ends with Callaghan’s back-story on his decent to madness, where he was going to activate the device to destroy San Fran as a whole. As he uses the micro bots to level the city we see that he has a sense of enjoyment of seeing the world burn. This is where we see the Big Hero 6 among the ruins stopping him from going any further. Callaghan (Now Yokai) then taunts Hiro that he will follow the same fate as his brother if he gets in the way. The story then ends on a cliffhanger. Haruki Ueno aimed for a more emotional story, and we get it here in a more; somewhat darker tone. I say as a whole I like the direction where it is going. But what do you guys think? Thanks for listening. Am I thinking too deep into this? Mind you this Manga focuses on: Hiro, Tadashi, and Callaghan exclusively. Foreshadowing the others in the second volume and flushing them out. I guess that's my one complaint. We get no explanation of why Callaghan is going insane, but I guess its like the movie and will tell readers about his daughter. Overall a good spin on the movie as a whole.

By LovesBooksandCats The Big Hero 6 manga is based off the hit movie Big Hero 6 and it should be pointed out there are a lot of differences between the movie and the manga.Without spoiling the storyline for you, the readers, here are some differences:the manga shows Hiro looking much younger than his fourteen years and is a lot less mature than his movie counterpart. He is very shy and tries to cover that shyness by being a brat.The storyline for volume one focuses more the relationship between Tadashi and Hiro, showing bits and pieces of their past and has extra chapter as to why Tadashi built Baymax.Callaghan appears to look much younger and more handsome in this manga than his movie counterpart.The characters display much more emotion and are shown to have more flaws than they had in the movie.All in all, volume one of Big Hero 6 is a great start for a great new series for both fans and newcomers alike!

Yes, the plot is different from the movie and there are some small changes alongside very big ones, but overall the integrity of the story is still the same. The characters were very well drawn in a cool manga art style, the story was fast paced yet still has some very emotional moments, and the setting is as brilliant as it was in the movie. I cannot wait for the next manga in this series! Oh, and there is a bonus chapter at the end that gives you additional back-story on the characters. It's a very cool idea to turn this movie into a manga. Just keep in mind that it is not the same exact story as the movie, but this gives the series plenty of room to grow and continue to be a much longer series than a single plot line would allow for.

I received this early from Rightstuf due to preordering this.Kiss of the Rose Princess isn't a shoujo that takes itself seriously. And you shouldn't take it seriously either. Most would agree that as far as shoujo is concerned, most of it isn't something to be taken seriously. Then we get outrageous, pun-filled series like Ouran and Kiss of the Rose Princess that really go far out to make fun of itself, the reverse-harem and shoujo in general. This is the shoujo I like. I want something to make me laugh, recognize cultural puns, and just relax. And most importantly-not have to nitpick the series because it's not trying to do anything to make you go "Wow! So original!"Then we get series like Kamisama Kiss, where the plot and characters are so vital to the series as a whole that I can both relax and enjoy it, but also take a serious look at the development of the series. And for a serious shoujo, Kamisama nails every point. I have no gripes with that series at all. (I am biased, lol).With this 3rd volume, Kiss of the Rose Princess once again tries to make a gloomy and depressing atmosphere only to twist it around and make fun of high school physical exams!! You know, the one where your measurements are taken? Nope? Yeah, only in Japan.And Tenjo steals this spotlight, but of course, this is all for a plan Anise put into action. See, Haruto realizes he needs to stop being a butt, and something happens that I won't say here since its spoilery. Most of this volume has a lot of spoilers I can't really go into, but what can you expect? LOTS OF ROMANTIC HINTS. Seriously. Anise finally learns the details of the "true contract" she needs to make with her Knights and it involves the good old romance present in just about every shoujo reverse-harem ever. But there's a reason for it, so I am not complaining.If you have a favorite Knight, you'll definitely be getting some feels and posting this all over tumblr since Anise looks like she'll be romancing them all. But...it's pretty obvious who her true choice will be.Another funny volume with gorgeous color pages in the beginning. Just don't expect this series to be too serious. Think "Ouran" and you'll most likely enjoy this!

But a lot of it is the same, or at least feels the same. The plot is definitely moving forward, and something new happens every time.Also, I know there’s some iffy feelings about this series. But I enjoy it for what it is, what I know it is and expect it to be. It’s a high school shojo reverse harem, with a bit of magical girl, and an Enemy. It’s fun, the humor works, I really like the group of characters, and the plot is moving forward. The artwork is gorgeous, and fits with the type of manga/shojo it is.I don’t really want to delve into the plot. There are things I like and things I don’t about it—I like the twists and the suspense even, though some of the non-violent non-endings could have been better. Eye-opening, anxiety inducing, and necessary By Paul Ramon This book is a must read for anyone who has their doubts about the justice system in this country. As an American citizen we're taught to have faith in our government -- local, state, etc.-- and that things like wrongful conviction only happen in the movies or to someone who happens to look strikingly like the perpetrator and was in the vicinity of the crime when it occured. Thirteen innocent individuals spent years in prison for crimes they did not commit. They had significant portions of their lives ripped away by the state and it's cronies with a desire to punish the person responsible, they just felt that the person responsible was........anyone really. Case closed, next!Don't get me wrong, the justice system, as any system, is fallible, but I was not aware of its malevolence. The tactics used by those who "serve and protect" to coerce false confessions and identifications -- even from a 13 year-old rape victim-- to "get their man" is the most disturbing facet of the book. Beverly Monroe was convicted of murdering her companion after the death was ruled a suicide by the coroner's dept. Through the assistance of a state police agent she was manipulated and dare I say, forced into confessing to a murder that wasn't even a murder, and subsequently spent seven years in prison.The book is very well put together, through it's various appendices it offers statistics about the plague of wrongful convictions in the past few decades and the rise in exonerations through DNA eveidence, along with case studies and legal documentation. In summation, this book is a must read for everyone who cares about their rights as a citizen. It illuminates the problems underlying the American justice and legal systems with a white light in hopes that we'll notice the glare.

It is a "must" read for everyone who lives in the USA. Technically it is an easy read, but emotionally it is a roller coaster as we track people who were wrongfully incarcerated, some for many years, to the time that they were exonerated. As a person who is closely associated with the criminal justice system, I recommend that this book be read by all lawyers, police investigators and by forensic pathologists. It may change your outlook on the death penalty and the validity of the "presumption of innocense". When you finish this book you will bless the day that DNA evidence came into existance and become thankful for those who never lose faith in a wrongly convicted.

Amazing Thought-Provoking Story for All Ages By Jayzoo33 Flynn’s Log 4 continues this incredible series of books by adding increased depth to the characters who are dealing with a world digital crisis and exploring ideas about the virtual world and the physical world. I was amazed at the way this book challenges the reader to question what is real, and it’s done in a way to intrigue both young and mature readers. The characters that we’ve grown to know are now faced with more issues that affect the real 21st-century world.While the book is written for younger readers, there is amazing thought, intensity, and sensitivity that the author brings to the written page. The new images that accompany this book are outstanding artwork and help give visualization to the ideas, concepts, and characters.This is an excellent book, in my opinion. It is well-written, tells a good story, has memorable characters, and provides thoughts and ideas that stimulate the reader’s mind.

Nothing about the main character By Terry Leong I had been waiting a very long time for this book and it finally is released, but there isn't anything about Flynn, the main character. Or is that because the main character now Elle? This book is in the real world now, and the first part really is kinda scary. And, why did it take such a long time for Elle to realize Zana was in Flynn's body? Well, this book was decent, anyway. I just hope it won't take very long for the next book to be released. By the way, I think I spotted an error or two.
