1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Good stuff, but not as good as the first By Kid Kyoto While Insurrection: Liberty does not quite live up to the potential of the first book it's still a fun read filled with twists and turns and the sort of over-the-top action we expect from a mash up of Judge Dredd and Warhammer 40k.The first book ended on a cliff hanger, with the rebels of Liberty threatening Earth with economic devastation. But this book side-steps that interesting conflict and instead refocuses on a new rebel judge and a new threat. The new conflict is interesting, but lacks the bite of the first book which pitted loyalty against idealism.Colin MacNeil's art remains strong but seems sketchier and darker here, and none of the designs really stand out as that innovative.I realize this is sounding more and more negative but that's mainly because I enjoyed the first book so much and this follow-up just feels much more timid and weak.
