Back before writers started including adult situations and language? I don't have a problem with adult situations and language, and there are some very well done comics being published for mature readers. But superheroes? Too many of today's writers of superhero comics have lost sight of who their target audience has traditionally been. Superheroes used to be a gateway for young readers to be introduced to the world of comics. I grew up reading comics, but to be honest, I wouldn't let my children read most of what is being published today. I would let them read this, though. What Matt Fraction, Mike Allred and Mark Bagley (and associates) have created here is a story to be enjoyed by readers of all ages. There is still a serious storyline to follow, but there is also a light hearted feel to much of it, especially the FF chapters. It is not a childish story, it is a well written story, and it shows that comics can still be written for both children and adults to enjoy. If there is a weak point, it's the Age of Ultron cross-over chapter, a tie-in clearly mandated by Marvel's editorial staff, which is presented at the very end of the book and can easily be skipped. I have read this entire book and so has my nine year old son and we both loved it. The main reason? Something not found in comics very often anymore: fun. Remember when comics used to be fun?

I'm a fan of Fantastic Four and Mike Allred's art, so when I heard about the new FF series drawn by him, I decided to pick up the first couple issues, but I never caught up on it. I then saw this a couple of months ago, and decided to save up some money to add this to my Fantastic Four collection. I enjoyed but the Fantastic Four and the FF parts (The FF stuff was better) But some of the stuff was dull, irritating, or just plain annoying, like Val near the end of the story who was really whiny, and Ant-Man just beating up Doom, simply because (though I thought the actual reason was admittedly cool), and some other stuff. But over all I enjoyed it, but I see why people don't.

9 of 20 people found the following review helpful. Not worth buying. By Josh Logan I have loved Matt Fraction. I have loved the Fantastic Four. I do not love Matt Fraction's Fantastic Four. I think it is objectively bad.The physical presentation of this is fine. For what merits the story may have, they serve it well in the ordering of the two series FF and Fanstastic Four. It's just not worth reading, though.I had a consecutive run of several hundred issues of Fantastic Four when Matt Fraction started writing and I disliked the change so much I just stopped buying Fantastic Four. I thought it would be worth the gamble that the whole run would be better in whole than in single issues. Gamble lost.

19 of 26 people found the following review helpful. The story and art here are truly fantastic, and fully deserve the 5 stars By TheAmazingSpider-Man The story and art here are truly fantastic, and fully deserve the 5 stars. If you're looking for a detailed review of the content, please consult the reviews for the individual volumes that make up this Omnibus (Vols. 1-5 of Uncanny Avengers), or the other reviews that this Omnibus will undoubtedly get. This review is for those of you who care about the quality of the book itself, which is a solid 3 stars.I've been collecting Marvel's Omnibus line since 2006, and while there have been improvements over these years (most notably the switch from glued to sewn binding), the paper quality has taken a nosedive. This is certainly the case with this volume. The book lays flat and is quite easy to read, and the oversized art looks fantastic. However, the paper being used here is quite thin and flimsy. It's not as bad as Marvel's current event oversized books- see Infinity, Death of Wolverine, etc.- but the paper is closer to that of a nice magazine than a $100 book. The old Marvel Omnibus and Oversized Hardcover lines used to be made for prestige and endurance, but they have lost those edges. The result is a product that feels...cheaper.There are upsides to the change in paper, as the book is smaller and thus easier to read and store. And if you haven't bought a Marvel Omnibus pre-2012, you might not agree with my assessment. But for those of us who remember what the line used to be like, or for those of us who can compare the quality to something like Dark Horse's Big Damn Sin City, the production on this book just doesn't cut it. Even for 45% off the discounted price (or whatever deal you get).It seems apparent that Marvel has cut some corners to save the company a few dollars- all while raising the price of these Omnibus books! Case in point: the Amazing Spider-Man Omnibus Vol. 1 has a MSRP of $100 for 1088 pages, the same price for this 672 page book. Perhaps the production issues on this Omnibus would go down a little smoother with a $75 MSRP, but even that's still a lot for a book like this. You'll most likely enjoy this story, but you may want to consider other routes for getting the material- i.e. the individual trades, digital, etc. If you do decide to get this book, the quality is not terrible...it's just not that great, either.

3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. AMAZING quality. By Brian Childers Received this earlier today, and I'm blown away at the quality, and condition of my first Omnibus. It arrives wrapped in plastic, and has a nice weight to it, but not too heavy so it comes uncomfortable to read for an extended period. I can't decide if I prefer the dust jacket art, or the beautiful art underneath on the actually book itself. Very pleased with my purchase!

0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Remender assembles Avengers & Mutants, dosnt do it clean By Tucker LaCour I am a huge fan of Rick Remender. His god-tier run on Uncanny X-force is still one of my favorite runs in comic history. So when I heard he took a stab at a Avengers book, I jumped right on it. He blends X men with Avengers into a unity team to help both sides. The idea works for the most part. His arcs involving the Apocalypse twins (a callback to his UXF run) is incredible, and makes this a must own for returning fans. However, the faults lie in the beginning and ending of this tome. The Red Skulls involvement is what tarnishes this overall story, as he feels mutants are a menace (just out of the blue...I've never seen him give a s*** about them) and steals Professor X's brain....yeah. After the first 4 issues involving him, he reappears in the last arc, setting up the AXIS story line. Only problem is Marvel editorial made Remender turn the story line into a crossover, making it larger in scale and not included in this book. And its needed to finish the story, as the book doesn't conclude and leads right into the event, which varies in quality depending on your taste. Despite the Red Skull involvement, the story here is good enough from the follow up from his UXF days, and for that you should read it.The Omni itself is a little smaller than most, mostly due to the paper stock used, but its a minor complaint. If you can get this book, and then decide if its worth getting Axis as well.

Transgender: The Transgender Mirror Effect

In a world that suffers from intolerance and discrimination, every bit of information about transgender is valuable both for transgenders themselves, their family and friends and the general public. Transgender is a reality that is slowly but surely being understood. Out of the many biological and psychological theories that attempt to explain it, the mirror effect provides one of the best clues on its final understanding. Through this effect and the other theories available, misconceptions can be debunked, errors can be correct and most importantly true understanding can be achieved. The term transgender may be relatively young but the dysphoria may have existed since ancient times. Only in the more recent years has transgender been identified, studied and most importantly labeled. Words are powerful and they create an anchor in which transgenders can either define or refuse to define themselves.

By reading The Transgender Mirror Effect, you will learn:

  • Transgender Identities & Behavior
  • Terminology
  • Difference Between Gender & Sexuality
  • Gender Identity Development & The Disorder
  • What Is The Mirror Effect
  • Transitioning
  • FAQs
  • Much, much more!
Transgenders fight an uphill battle in a world that may not yet be fully ready for their acceptance. However, with information available, like in this book, the battle may prove to be victorious both for those who are transgenders, through acceptance and those who are not, through understanding.

3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. A (VERY) Brief Primer on Gender Identity Issues By Makaila the Spork A very brief and somewhat basic overview of gender issues. I am not expert enough to refute many of the conclusions--I just know that many of them fall short of my own experiences. Overall this reads more like a set of notes that a professor may prepare before a lecture. There were a few typographical errors that I found jarring: their instead of there, extra "is" in a sentence, and repeating of verbs within the same sentence. This booklet (at 40+ pages i hesitate to call it a book) may be useful for some people with curiosity or who are just looking for basic information . . . but for anything truly in depth I suggest looking elsewhere.

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. "It's very tight and cramped in here." By ViBe Volume 4 of D-Frag! contains chapters 22 to 28 (7 chapters) and a few extra chapters at the end that are worth reading. If you bought the previous 3 volumes, this 4th volume is pretty identical to make and size of the books by 7S.Other than that, the first 2 chapters focus on Kazama Kenji, the central protagonist, and Takao, captain of the Real Game Development Club dealing with the events that happened in the last volume and the two going out and buying a video game. The interactions between these two are some of my favorites in the entire series because seeing Takao fumble around Kenji is pretty enjoyable.Chapter 24 introduces Kazama Noe, Kenji's little sister, getting into complications with the temp Game Dev. Club (Temp). She and Mizukami Sakura of the Game Dev. Club (Temp) (Both Noe and Sakura are the cover girls this volume) end up going at odds with each other in another competition arc that spans the last half of the volume. Sakura teasing Noe and Noe in turn being embarrassed around Kenji because of the teasing is another thing I found to be very enjoyable to read this volume.Overall I enjoyed this volume, I actually enjoyed it a bit more that the previous 3. Buy this if you enjoyed the previous 3 volumes of D-Frag! by Tomoya Haruno.

The series somehow pulls of constant hilarity and absurdist humour, but never loses track of the characters and narrative (as it is... it kind of tricks you into thinking it has one, which is genius in and of itself). This volume contains the first real story that wasn't covered in the anime (it's in the OVA). The race for the sacred water at the temple is hilarious, as is the added backstory of Sean Connery-sensei and Takao's mother. Ludicrous. The rest of the volume includes everybody's favourite moment from the anime - Kenji and Takao's "date". It's all great.

I received a review copy of this issue only, but I liked what I read and would like to read more. The series is about an exiled samurai in New Spain and his companion who is an ex-Jesuit priest. This book starts with the capture and branding of slaves. One slave can speak Portuguese, so he becomes the translator for his captors. He also plans an uprising. While this is happening, the samurai has his own fight going on. It kind of jumps around a bit, and with only a length of 25 pages, it's over before it's begun. It's written by a host of authors, including Neal Stephenson, and while the story jumps around, it's an interesting premise. The art by Dean Kotz can be a bit confusing at times. There are lots of characters and many of them kind of blur together. Yet, I still liked the art style. 25 pages isn't much to base a review on, but I found some interesting threads of story here.I received a review copy of this comic book issue from Jet City Comics and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you for allowing me to review this comic book issue.

Too Muddled and Confusing By Mark Ament As previously noted this is an ongoing series of which this book is a part and perhaps that accounted for some of my confusion. I found this book to be utterly confusing and practically impossible to follow. Muddles artwork that made distinguishing among a whole host of characters difficult if not impossible certainly didn't help. A number of writers are listed as contributors and the old adage about writing by committee may hold true here and we may just have a collective mess or I am just too obtuse to discern the beauty - take your pick.

Rohloff Girl Genius, the story of the Spark (aka mad scientist) Agatha Heterodyne, has always been entertaining and action packed- but this volume takes the adventure to a whole new level. The story opens with Agatha entering her ancestral home, the Castle Heterodyne, which she has never so much as set eyes on before. The castle is packed with dangerous prisoners of Baron Wulfenbach, who, depending on who you talk to, is either a heartless dictator or just a guy trying to keep the peace. The prisoners are trying desperately to repair the castle, which is apparently sentient and *began* as mad, bad and dangerous to know and has now upgraded to having multiple personalities and a nasty persecution complex as well- though the latter is admittedly well-earned. The prisoners, needless to say, aren't having a lot of luck with that.Meanwhile, Gilgamesh Wulfenbach, and several others of Agatha's old friends are also trying to enter the castle for various reasons and in various groups. But they might have a little trouble finding her, as she's adopted the persona of a mass murderer in order to enter the castle and drops quickly out of sight with the reluctant aide of a former enemy, turned minion. The castle has also taken an interest in her love life, so who knows what it'll spring on her next. This volume, winner of the first Hugo award for Best Graphic Story, keeps the pace fast and the characters on the nose. It's an absolute page-turned, and it'll keep you on pins and needles until the very bitter end!

I look forward to each printing, devour it, then lament the wait for the next volume. If you are looking for a great story set in a fun and unique era... look no farther. Girl Genius will have looking around the house for whatever you can cobble together into a coffee machine... or death ray, if you prefer.

By Karissa Eckert This is the eighth TP in the wonderful Girl Genius gaslight fantasy graphic novel series. These books are just so much fun! This was one of the best books in this series so far.Agatha has finally made it into Heterodyne Castle, now she needs to repair the castle. Except the castle is constantly trying to kill her, as is the pretend Agatha who entered the castle before her. Luckily it ends up Agatha knows a lot of people who have been imprisoned in the castle and some of her friends have decided to join her as well.I continue to really love this steampunk graphic novel series. It’s full of wonderful adventure, steampunk devices, and some magic. I love the brightly colored illustration and all the action. There are hilarious scenes with Gilgamesh and his gigantic laser that had me laughing out loud, not to mention what is up with that crazy hat? Really he has some hilarious scenes in this book. Agatha really comes into power as she goes on a mission to convince Castle Heterodyne that yes, she is the last Heterodyne. Then there is the amazing Castle Heterodyne itself, it’s just so cool! I love the personality it has and how it is fractured throughout the castle. I also really enjoyed some of the spectacular defenses the castle launched, the torchmen are really really nifty.Overall I am still really loving this series. This is one of the best books in the series yet. These are so funny, which so many neat steampunk elements, a complex story, wonderfully quirky characters, action, magic, and romance. Really it’s just a wonderfully fun read that I highly recommend to graphic novel fans!

Fire, meet Gasoline. Attractive, young and equally strong-headed, Scarlett Sommerfield and Dev Bashir were never meant to be a match--at least if his very wealthy and traditional Indian parents have anything to say about it. So it's a good thing that they've despised each other for most of their young lives. But that's about to change. Growing up poor and motherless, smart and ambitious Scarlett is graduating from high school and becoming a new adult in the big scary world without a safe place to land, so when she's invited to move in with her best friend's palatial home on the right side of the tracks for her senior year, things couldn't be better. There, she finds security and kindness--with the exception of her best friend's brooding and arrogant older brother, Dev, who returns home from college struggling with his own demons and seemingly focused on making her the object of his contempt. Over time--and some ill-timed run-ins--Scarlett learns that he's not at all what he seems, and a forbidden love sparks between them, burning out of control when she least expects it. But when there's fire, there's smoke, and controlling Mrs. Bashir catches onto their young romance...and everything goes to hell. Steeped in outdated rules and traditions about love and marriage, the matriarch of the Bashir Family makes no secret that Scarlett simply doesn't measure up as a match for their eldest son. And the very people who made her feel part of the family now want nothing more than to see her gone for good. Including her former best friend. Will Scarlett and Dev's love survive against his intolerant mother's sabotage, her personal misfortunes and a dark life-changing secret he's kept simmering just under the surface? Or will Scarlett end up back where she started: facing her future utterly alone.

4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. There's nothing like forbidden love... By TFLReader It seems that many of us tend to grab for what we're not supposed to have. I know that I have done this all of my life. If you tell me that I can't have something, it makes me want it with a passion. Shakespeare played off of this theme quite well with "Romeo and Juliet", as does author Kennedy Claire in "My Best Friend's Brother".The amazingly suspenseful story of Scarlett and Dev, two (older) teens who fall passionately for each other yet come up against some pretty formidable obstacles. Scarlett is from the wrong side of the tracks and is fortunate in having a best friend with a generous family who takes her into their home for her senior year of high school. The Bashir family is not only wealthy, but quite traditional, so when it becomes known that their older son, Dev, has fallen for Scarlett, life gets complicated for all involved. There are some other mitigating factors involved in the story, that I won't name as spoilers, that kept this very interesting.I loved this book from start to finish. In fact, I read the entire thing in one sitting which is quite unusual for me. Forbidden love is a great theme for any story and Claire pulls this off very well with the traditional family dynamic adding a great element to the story. As a reader, you want so badly for these two to make things work against the odds and I closed the final page feeling very satisfied with a solid read.

The unexpected events, the forbidden passion held by two very different people. Scarlett is a delightful character, strong and yet wanting to be loved and adored. Dev, her best friend's brother who tormented her and made her feel less than human, all the while hiding his real feelings. It is a diverse group of characters, but they matched the story perfectly. The details are clear and I was pulled into the lives of all of them. I could not stop reading it until it ended, and I wanted more. I am a hopeless romantic and this is one of the best books I have read. I can not wait to read the next book of this series. The author, Kennedy Claire did a superb job and the passion and love of life and writing shine through and I look forward to reading more of her work. I definitely recommend this book to all who love romance and the search of true love.

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. A Good Read, But Needs Development By Suzanne Williams 3.5 Stars. Overall, I enjoyed this story. I appreciated the shorter length. Short stories are very under appreciated. I felt the author's use of first person was well done. I also felt the ethnicity of the story was handled nicely. But ... I could not decide if I liked the characters. I liked Scarlett most of the time, but as the story progressed, she became frustrating. I wanted her to ask more questions, speak up, and not cower all the time. Dev was fascinating. I liked his hard edges, the sultriness of him. I liked the author's use of his journal entries to include his POV. That was well done. The formatting of the book had flaws. There were numerous simple editing errors, wrong choice or tense of word, spelling mistakes, and missing words that a good editor could have found. I also was very peeved with the extra material from book 2 in the back. This is a sales technique I personally don't care for.The storyline itself had ups and downs for me. Though the pace of it moved along nicely and kept my interest, it was more erotic than I feel is appropriate for young adults. I do not know if it is being marketed as such, but I would say it isn't appropriate for anyone under eighteen. Setting aside my own morals on teens and sex, less needed to be said of the details of their encounter. Sex should NEVER be the core point of the story. I do not feel it was entirely the issue in this tale, but it was made much more of than I think was needed to make the author's point.Lastly, the ending came up too quickly. This is not a reference to length, but to scenes. More time should have been given to her recovery from her dad's death and the troubled relationship between she and Dev. The marriage proposal, though I understand it's placement and figure the author deliberately kept the story short in order to write book two, seemed hastily written and, if given more time to develop before lopping the end off, the story would have been much better.I will not read book 2 as the preview told me enough that it isn't warranted. I am not totally turned off by this book or this author, but cannot recommend it because of sexual content.

Best book ever By Kindle Customer I chose my rating by reading the whole book and I think but this is my opinion I think I should rate this book 5 stars because Jason the enderman finds friends, but he has bullies. My dislike side is you need more books about Jason the enderman and what I like about this book is it has someone different from other people and still has friends.

0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Awsome But... By Teresa Nelson I loved the story I think it was really nice how the enderman concurred bullying. But I wish it would be longer because I finished it in less than a hour. And please make a series of this story about Jason the endearment. Please consider these changes. PS there were lots of spelling errors not trying to be mean.

State of the World 2006 provides a special focus on China and India and their impact on the world as major consumers of resources and polluters of local and global ecosystems. The report explains the critical need for both countries to "leapfrog" the technologies, policies, and even the cultures that now prevail in many western countries for the sake of global sustainability—and reports on some of the strategies that China and India are starting to implement. Besides the focus on China and India, State of the World 2006 looks at actions corporations can take to be more socially responsible; examines the potential socioeconomic, health, and environmental implications of nanoscale technologies; assesses the impacts of large-scale development of biofuels on agriculture and the environment; describes mercury sources, industrial uses, and health hazards worldwide; and provides an overview of the need to safeguard freshwater ecosystems, with examples of proven approaches in cities, villages, and farming regions around the world.

Resources are being squandered, damage is extensive and accelerating."State of the world 2006" focuses on a few areas of concern, any one of which poses a substantial risk: quickly developing countries (with developed countries already having heavily damaged the world), the meat industry, fresh water supplies, alternatives to oils, possible impacts of nanotechnolog and mercury. The impact of disasters, the implications of sustainability upon trade, and the role of corporations are also explored.Enough is presented to be frightening. Can each of these aress, as well as the many others that may not be sustaniable, can be effectively handled before serious crises occur? As with global warming, it seems that very serious crises are already well underway. This book references the 2005 Millenium Ecosystem Assessment work of the World Health Organization. Downloads of much of this work are available. At it own web site, the Worldwatch Institure has more information including downloads. Many of us are or tend to be contributors to the damage of the world. It's easy to be distracted by other problems and not address this. It's easy to think of the small impact of what just one of us does without considering the impact of billions. It seems overwhelming so it's good that an organization like the Worldwatch Institure keep it in front of us. Soon the world may be keeping it in front of us or our children even when we don't want it to. I feel rather helpless about it. Knowing more about it, as with this book, is a first step, however.

VALDES Perezgasga The State of the World Series has always been a source of well-documented research of our planetary path to sustainability. This yearly report contains valuable insight to many of today's more pressing environmental problems. In particular the 2006 edition has a chapter devoted to water issues, superbly written and documented by Sandra Postel one of the foremost voices on these matters. I also liked the chapter dedicated to the meat industry, right on time for the developing crisis on avian flu.

9 of 11 people found the following review helpful. No reason not to read this report By Stefan Isaksson There's really not very much to say about this book, except that every single human being who knows how to read should read it.Some of its contents are positive, much of it is negative, but everything is equally important to know. This world of ours deserves a better fate than being utterly destroyed by the human race. However, this nasty possibillity is approaching extremely fast, and unless people start reacting to the issues at stake we're all doomed. This book will not save the world, but if there's one book that can really make a difference, then this is the one.So go get it. As fast as you can. You owe it to the world.

Deadman's Land, by Barry Duffield

About the Author Barry Duffield was a young boy growing up in Australia when he fell in love with all things cinematic. It led him to a successful career as an actor, as well as a screenwriter, and now he’s also the author of his first graphic novel. He began his acting career in 1987, most recently playing Lugo on the highly regarded ‘Spartacus’ TV series. He graduated from South Seas Film and Television School in 1997 with a degree in screenwriting and directing. He was selected for the 2009 New Zealand Film Commission First Writers Initiative and served on the New Zealand Writers Guild board as the Northern Regional Representative. The screenplay of ‘Deadman's Land’ was a 2013 quarter finalist in the 2013 Final Draft Big Break Screenwriting Competition and the 2014 Scriptapalooza Screenwriting Competition and has now also become Barry's first graphic novel. A passion for all things lycanthropic and an overwhelming desire to bring something fresh to the genre led to the writing of the ‘Deadman’s Land’ screenplay. The need to have the story reach the reading audience led to the creation of the graphic novel.

By Johna Smith First off, my initial thought was that the coloring was absolutely brilliant for the setting of story. Very well done on that note.As a history buff, I love the historical era/war setting. It's always fun to read comics that aren't set in current day.The comic is well executed and written. The story is interesting and keeps you wanting to know what's coming next.I have been eagerly awaiting the release of this comic for over a year now. It was WELL worth the wait. I'm very excited for the next one ;)Give this comic a read! You won't be sorry!

By Cristina García-moncó Piñeiro Never boring and to the point, Deadman's land is a great read.I enjoyed the writing, I think set up and pay off work perfectly, and the same goes to the characters, with whom you connect rather quickly.Deadman's land is a great and worth-the-read example of its genre, with a very entertaining plot, and shocks, twists and turns all around till the very end, showing a world and stories about which I wouldn't mind at all to know more.Give it a read!

You will love this graphic novel and it will make beautiful addition to your library. Once you start reading, you will not put it down as the story twists and turns and is complemented with such beautiful artwork. This needs to be made into a movie. I look forward to more stories from the author. Thank you for such an amazing story and incredible journey!

Mr. Amari Soul has done exactly that. He has captivated an audience of the masses by speaking of love and relationships. He tells women do not be afraid to love again. But don't settle. Its okay to wait. He lets the gentlemen know what really is on the mind of women and how to love us they way we need to be loved. This is hands down the best love and relationship book I have ever had the pleasure of reading! He even encourages his audience to write their feelings in the book! The difference between a good writer and a great one is if they genuinely believe what they write. Mr. Amari Soul is phenomenal! He writes from his soul, he speaks through is spirit. It is genuine to have someone share their inner most personal thoughts all because he wants to change the world one heart a time. The words he has written speaks an undisputed truth! I have recommended this book and will continue to do so to anyone that has been, is currently or will be in a relationship. Definitely a must read!

I have to say if I had this book 13 years ago, it would have changed my outlook on slot of things. My book came 4 days earlier than what it was supposed too and once I got it I couldn't put it down. I recommend this book to everyone who has teenage children, woman and men. It will teach your sons what a woman expects and teaches your daughters what to except what not to except and why they except what they have been excepting! It was very nice to finally put into perspective what I had dealt with for so many years and put a voice and name to it, when I could never express exactly how and what I've been through! Everyone made a big deal outta thinking like a man act like a lady, if you ask me this book is BETTER than that! Because woman can never think like a man and act like a lady. What Mr. Soul does is teach us that it's okay to think like a lady and act like a lady and as a lady why we tolerate what we do and then he goes even further to have you question yourself why you did. Awesome book

It all started with a date with Miranda being auctioned as part of a charity auction she was talked into. She's a down to earth woman. Nothing like the other fake barbies at the auction. That's part of what attracted James and Winston. It was fun to watch the men try to win Miranda's heart. Of course, that took second to all the sexual interactions they had. Just two of them together or all three, whew! were they hot. Of course their relationship can't all be rosy. There has to be an issue. I had trouble putting this book down until that issue was resolved. Then there's the issue that Miranda's not used to their notoriety or lifestyle. They need to deal with her feelings of inadequacy, and it was sweet to see how far James and Winston to protect Miranda.Once I was finished with the first book, it was a relief to know that I had the next one at my fingertips. It you like hot and steamy romances, then you definitely want to read set as soon as possible.

The whole Cinderella concept is overexposed, cliche, ridiculously unrealistic, and often used as a cop out for writers who can't use creative ways to solve character problems and just throw imaginary money at everything. I downloaded this particular book because I wanted to try more material by this specific author, so I took a chance. Glad I did.The writing, spelling, grammar were good. The plot had a slightly different slant. I found the characters completely likable and relatable and their chemistry is believable (if you can suspend belief enough to imagine two gorgeous billionaires would enjoy sharing a curvy chick for more than a lark - author did a good job so I could do this easily). I liked the fact that, while there was enough sex for me to label this more erotica than romance, that it actually HAD a story. A good one at that - with plot points and believable character responses. And some character growth! It wasn't the completely superficial trash that I keep coming across lately. I wish I could have given it 4.5 stars, but I don't have that option. The only two reasons I would take half a star rating off are: 1. I'm jaded and as previously stated I hate billionaire/Cinderella BS - sorry. 2. This was originally considered three separate parts and I hate serials involving relationships of the same characters being spread out over many books. I didn't judge too harshly because obviously I got to the series after it was bundled, but the aggravation remains as a reader and I hate the trend although I understand the fiscal motivation behind it.

Wow hot By Kindle Customer I love how Miranda was talked into being auditioned of for a dinner date to raise money for a pet shelter her friend owned and ran. Miranda is a curvy woman who thought no one would bet on her. Boy was she wrong. Not one but two rich friends and business hedge owners start out bidding on her then decided to combined the offer cause they both wanted to date her. Now that it's all I am going to tell you as anymore will be giving away to much. Let's just say this book set had me smiling, crying and wanting to hit an ex-girlfriend. The author did a wonderful job with this series. Can't wait to read more of her work.
