By Amazon Customer Stan Sakai's fantastic Usagi Yojimbo is probably one of the best character in modern comics today. With this 20th anniversary book, old fans and new readers alike get the best of Usagi as well as an insightful history in the creation and mastery behind such a well-loved character. Looks at players in the world of Usagi, the use of Japanese mythos and culture from the days of the first shoganate, and the art style of Stan himself is just a brief sampling of what you'll find in this collection. It is more than well worth the money for anyone with even a passing interest in Japan, comics, and, of course, Miyamoto Usagi.

By Amazon Customer I have waited a long time to own this book and I'm so thrilled to finally own it. The format is beautiful, the content is incredible and fascinating, especially if you're a fan. This should appeal to long time fans and provides a great introduction to Usagi's world too!
1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. A beautiful compendium that should be a part of every UY fan's collection. By romevi I was fortunate enough to snag one of the hardcover versions. Any true UY collector knows that when a hardcover version is spotted at a fair price it must be snagged quickly. Sakai's limited editions go for a hefty price on the aftermarket--something which I learned the hard way.But there's always room for learning.The collection is an oversized tome with notes, sketches, official artwork, and other Sakai tidbits. The edition I bought was used, but it came in fantastic condition, and the price I paid made me forgive the tiny bends in the corner.However, I found that some of the full-page artworks, which originally were in black and white, had marker drawn over them! I know I shouldn't be reviewing a product based on my transaction with a seller, but I thought I should point that out as it seemed out of place.At first it seemed that's how it was done, that perhaps Sakai let his children or something color on the pages and decided to include them in this compendium. But they were too childish and no mention of juvenile coloring was mentioned, so I contacted the seller and they offered me a further discount. So I wasn't too muffed.Still, I'm glad I own it either way, though I've yet to finish reading it (there are a lot of details!).
